I’m stunned at the big list of places you managed to see in 20 days, you must have been non-stop! The Mekong Riverside is an area I would love to see especially as it is so close to Laos – the resort you stayed in looked fabulous. It’s useful to see what your budget was for this trip, something I always forget to make a note of.
No, I was not totally non-stop. I took rest, but yes, it was a little hectic.
Ok, I am going to have to ask…did you sleep and rest? That is quite intense, I probably would want a bit longer. Or did you think 20 days was just enough time to do all this? I am just curious. Haven’t got to Thailand yet but probably want to spend a couple of months here and the Mekong is one area I want to check out. It looks so beautiful.
Hahhaa, yes Danik, I slept and took rest also. Go to each link to find out the details on various days.
Wow. What a large number of spots you visited in 20 days travel. I am sure you saw a lot at each stop. But must have kept moving. A bit like when we visit places by cruise ship. A taste test of a bunch of places. But lots of places go on the “to return” list.
True that, Linda.
Love your easy to follow suggestions of what to do. I’ve only been to a few provinces in Thailand, there’s so much more of this beautiful country that I need to explore. So cool that is only cost about $720 for 20 days!
Yes, Thailand is not that expensive. Isaan region is cheaper, moreover.
I like Thailand. I have been to Thailand twice so far. But I still want to come back. Thai cuisine is my favorite. I also like architecture and paradise beaches. I spent 30 days in Thailand; however, I didn’t see some of the places you write about. Probably for me it is too fast for sightseeing. I like to enjoy the area. But I’m impressed by your list! It’s an exciting trip. Several places inspired me, and I will want to see them during my next stay.
Thailand is huge and so diverse. Come back, again.
Now, that’s quite an accomplishment is 20 days! And with such a contained budget, too. I’m particularly intrigued by the Mekong Riverside, it must be such a fascinating area to explore.
Yes, please follow the link to read more about them.
That’s a busy itinerary lol. Are all of these places safe for female solo travel? Do you know how much the 21,900 would be in US money?
Around 700$.
This is such a epic trip, I’m sure I’d need another break after doing all this! You certainly made the most of your time in Thailand and it’s interesting to know that it can be very affordable. I’d love to travel along the Mekong. The candle festival parade sounds like something else I’d enjoy. Spending 20 days in a country really enables you to explore a lot, I’m sure I would enjoy sampling all the local cuisine along the way!
That’s lovely!
I loved your detailed post with all key places to visit in Thailand within 20 days. You have covered a lot in 20 days. I loved how you have given details and all itinerary expense too which is very helpful to travelers. It is great that you have incorporated museums, temples, lakes, local markets, palaces and all in one trip. This itinerary is great for all kind of travelers and I never knew many places before reading your post. Bookmarking your post.
Thanks Yukti.
Great post!! I love your list and all the places you mentioned. I have been to mostly all the recommendation you had while I traveling to Thailand. I think that this post will help a lot of beginner travelers when they visit thailand for the first time as you have written all the details and the expense.
Hope it helps them.
This sounds like a very cool plan! All Thailand in 20 days. With your posts I get to know the corners of Thailand I would never see otherwise.
Yes, these are not at all touristy.
If I have less days, then do you think skipping KHON KAEN is a good idea or can you suggest any other place that cab be missed due to shortage of time? I am planning to visit in June this year.
You can keep Khon Kaen only when you have a lot of time. Head to Kanchanaburi, instead.
That lotus pond at Udon Thani looks so beautiful and I bet you had an amazing iew at the Mekong Riverside Resort too. I still can’t believe you visited all 20 provinces in just 20 days though! Definitely sounds like you had an amazing trip and for that price, Thailand really is a wonderland for budget travellers!
It is, indeed!
Thank you for this quick and simple itinerary list. Would have loved to know a little bit more info about them.
I will share more information on the next blog.
I had honestly not heard of almost any of these places, so thanks for going in-depth and widening my horizons a bit here!
You should visit the place very soon.
I consider you as the luckiest person to have enjoyed 20 days in Thailand. For me, most of the places that you have described are a stranger; expect one of two, since I got just 5 days to spend in this country before the COVID-19 pandemic. When things come back to normalcy, I would definitely like to try all that you have visited. Thank you for such a great post. I guest covering such a long list of tourist attractions would have been exhaustive for you. Isn’t it?
I live there, so not a problem, and hence I found out few days to explore the hidden treasures of the country.
