There are more, I wish I could slow down.
Again, you are making my planning for the trip to Spiti Valley very very easy. Really hoping for 2022 for this trip and cant wait to get out there. At the moment, I think I be going here before anywhere else in India. Might need a lot more memory for my camera to take a lot of amazing photos (as well as memories) when I am there. 🙂
Thanks Danik.

This road trip looks like the perfect one for me! I have not yet visited the area, so I would love to be able to see all of that in such a short time frame. I love to go go go and see as much as I can for every trip, so this would be a great plan!
I always think I will chill while traveling but I end up doing a lot.

I’ve enjoyed reading about your journey so getting to see the final highlight of the itinerary was a great finale! The stunning beautiful countryside in this region is so inspiration and gorgeous. And it’s incredible to see just how much it changed over the 12 days of your journey. Kaza is still the most impactful to me and I’d love a chance to visit that beautiful village someday.
Yes, I usually give the details of the days and then the final summary!
Unfortunately, I have never been on this route. I was meaning to take this route this year. Hopefully, I can still take this journey. Bookmarking this such a great post. Stunning set of pictures.
Thanks Saurabh.
This is a perfect end to your diary of 12 days. Makes it easy for one to plan their own road trip. I would personally add a day more to Tabo and Dhankar. This whole circuit is just so beautiful . It is not surprising that people are wide awake when they make the road trip.
Oh yes Ami, you need a week more to this tbh!
I liked detailed itineraries like this which also include places to stay and eat, as well as expenses involved. Makes it so much easier to plan your trip. I’ve never been to India before, but Spiti Valley definitely looks perfect for a road trip. Love the landscape in Kaza a lot!
Yes, India is more than Rajasthan and Kerala.
I still haven’t made it to India, maybe one day. This looks like a great itinerary, you managed to cover a lot of ground in only 12 days. This will come in handy if/when I make it there.
Sure Debra.
This itinerary is a goldmine of information, Shreya! The segment with the town of Kaza is the one that caught my attention. I hope to make it to the North of India someday. ?
Oh yes, come down!
Oh my God! I got a shock looking at how extensive your list is. That’s awesome and super detailed. Esp., it is a perfect wrap to your trip with Rohtang Pass and Manali. I’m glad to know that the whole trip is doable from Chandigarh. That’s easy to reach Chandigarh by flight, hire a car and follow your itinerary.
Chandigarh is easier than Delhi in this case.
This looks like a really great itinerary for the Spiti valley, I didn’t realise one could dedicate almost two weeks here but actually I can see there is so much to explore. Great guide to visiting!
One would need few more weeks to explore Spiti in depth.
I’ve never heard about those areas in India but it looks so beautiful! I love road trips so much and I would love do that one! Love those photos, so stunning!
Thanks Karolina.
Thank you for breaking down the expenses for a trip like this! Often there are itineraries without having any idea what the cost is. It looks like you had a fabulous time!
Thanks Jennifer, yes it was a fabulous time indeed.
Wow, this is quite a comprehensive itinerary for Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti valley. I have been to Kinnau but am yet to explore Lahaul-Spiti. I have definitely heard about the beauty of the place. Thanks for sharing the itinerary and the cost breakdown. This will definitely help in planning my trip.
I visited Kaza in Oct 2021. I took the Shimla route (passing through Reckongpeo). I missed out on some iconic places of Spiti Valley though I was there for a week and visited Chicham, Key, Kibber, etc. I just wanted to relax and soak the vibes of the valley and didn’t rush. I left other places for my next trip to Spiti Valley
Wonderful to know.
