Ultimate Bali in 9 Days – Day 8
I love traveling, I am a foodie, I love eating vegan food, I love nature, and I love parties. Bali is a heavenly island in Indonesia that offers everything I love. It has the best beaches, photogenic rice terraces, captivating waterfalls, happening parties, boutique accommodations, and also the best eateries. With an increasing trend of switching to plant-based alternatives, Bali has come up with sprawling number of vegan cafes offering both local and western menu. I spent a whole week in Bali exploring the south, the central, bit of the north, and also the east. I had amazing vegan food every day while exploring the whole island. After a jampacked itinerary, I intended to spend the last night in Seminyak and do nothing but enjoy vegan food at our favorite vegan cafe in Bali – Kynd Community – and relax in the best beach club in Bali – Potato Head Beach Club.
Highlights of the Day
- Check-out from Samanvaya Luxury Resort and Spa
- Travel to Seminyak and check-in at Loco Homestay
- Lunch at Kynd Community
- Potato Head Beach Club
- Dinner at Kynd Community
Goodbye Samanvaya Luxury Resort and Spa in Sidemen
We had the best time in East Bali in Samanvaya Luxury Resort and Spa – a charming, boutique resort in the midst of nature in Sidemen valley. It is surrounded by panoramic rice terraces, tropical forests, rolling hills, authentic temples, and cultural sites. We explored the best places of East Bali during our stay there. However, on our last day before we flew from Bali, we decided to spend our time relaxing in Seminyak.
Hello Oyo Loco Homestay in Seminyak
We had booked a car with driver to pick us up from Samanvaya at around noon. The distance from Sidemen to Seminyak is around 60 km. We had booked a basic accommodation there – Oyo Loco Homestay. We reached our hotel in Seminyak at around 2 PM. The taxi cost around Rp 300,000. After staying at amazing places in Bali, such as PinkCoco Bali in Uluwatu, Bubble Hotel Bali in Uluwatu, Firefly Eco-Lodge in Ubud, and finally Samanvaya Luxury Resort and Spa in Sidemen valley, we toned down our choice of accommodation in Seminyak. We stayed in a basic room that we had booked over AirBnb just for our last night in Bali.
Kynd Community – The Best Vegan Restaurant in Bali
When it comes to vegan food, Bali is a hot-spot. Many Indonesian dishes are vegan by default, and also Bali caters to its foreign visitors. So whether it’s local or western food, you get vegan versions of all types of food in Bali. Hence, with so many vegan cafes and restaurants in Bali, it gets a bit difficult to choose the best one. However, a quick stroll through Instagram of anything remotely related to Bali will eventually make you stumble into the famous pink wall of Kynd Community. It says, “Another day in paradise”. Hence we decided to have lunch in the paradise.
Kynd Community is a plant-based restaurant, bar, and ice-creamery hidden away in the busy streets of Seminyak. This is my favorite vegan eatery in all of Bali. It shows that plant-based food does not have to be boring at all. Their menu is full of zest and their dishes explode with flavors and cruely-free goodness. Both the interior and food is very Instagrammable, so make sure your camera has a lot of battery and memory space in it.
Lunch at Kynd Community
For lunch, Richie ordered Kynd Big Mac Burger and I preferred Bahn Mi Baguette. The burger comes with double neat pattie, Kynd secret sauce, sweet chili, tomato, onion, lettuce, and French fries. The baguette comes with lemongrass tofu, cucumber, carrot, lettuce, coriander, spring onion, pickle, aioli, sweet chili, and cassava strips. After a hearty meal, we headed to the Kynd creamery next door to have Ferrero Rocher Ice-cream and Strawberry Milkshake. That completes our vegan meal!
Evening in Potato Head Beach Club
A bit of research on the best parties or events to attend in Bali will bring you to Potato Head. It is highly recommended by everyone, and after my visit, I recommend it too to every one visiting Bali. Spend a day or two in Seminyak and visit this one-of-its-kind beach club. We stayed in walking distance from the beach club and visited this place in the evening.
Potato Head Beach Club is indeed one of the coolest and most stylish places to hang out in Seminyak and Bali as a whole. It has four restaurants, four bars, an infinity pool, and large lawn, all overlooking the Indian Ocean. Their programs of dance parties, exhibitions, and installations include both local and international DJs, musicians, artists, and architects.
Entry Timing and Entrance Fee of Potato Head Beach Club
Potato Head Beach Club is open from 10 AM to 2 AM. Usually, there is no entrance fee except for the sunset view timings that is from 4 PM to 6 PM. If you enter during that time range, there is a minimum spend of Rp 150,000 per person. It acts like a cover charge with which you can purchase food and drinks inside. We chose this option as we reached around 5.30 PM.
Also note that, if you want to book a poolside bed or a beachfront cabana, there are separate cover charges. The cover charge for a poolside bed is Rp 500,000 with no time-limit – you can be there all day. The bed can accommodate 4 people, so if you are there with friends, this is really a minimal amount. Keep in mind, the daybeds get booked early, so be there by 9 AM as you will find a long waiting line for the best positioned daybed.
On the other side, the cover charge for a beachfront cabana is Rp 800,000 with a time limit of 6 h. The cabanas are on a slightly lower level, and involves a bit of walking to get access to the pool. I will any day opt for poolside, as I will like to hop in and out of the amazing infinity pool, with swim-up bar easily.
Best Pool Vibes in Potato Head Beach Club
The beach club gave us the best vibes. People were sprawling on the lawn of the beachfront bar, having drinks, chatting with friends, making out with partners, moving their bodies at the DJ’s lively beats – the atmosphere was at a whole new different level in there. The infinity pool is located strategically overlooking the ocean offering the best sunset views. We fell in love, instantly!
I highly recommend to book the poolside daybed and spend the whole day in this beach club. Sunbathing by the pool, fun in the pool, delicious food, amazing cocktails, excellent music – you will get all of that here that will make you feel like a boss on your relaxing holiday.
Dinner at Kynd Community
There is no second thought about where to have your food in Seminyak, even if that is a repeated visit to the restaurant! We headed to Kynd Community again for dinner. The place has a different menu for dinner than for breakfast and lunch. We ordered fresh grilled prawn with coconut rice, mac and cheese, and fish tacos – all vegan, of course!
It was a satisfying day as we had the best vegan food and had great fun at the best beach club in Bali. Our hotel was in walking distance to both the venues. Shortly after dinner, we strolled on the streets of Seminyak and headed to our hotel for a good sleep. On the way, we picked up few Bali magnets from the nearby flea market. I also bought the most popular Rattan bag for myself. Richie picked up few coconut bowls and bamboo straws.
Ultimate Bali in 9 Days – Day 9
Bali is a haven of great food and picturesque places – what else do you need? I had the best time in our ultimate 9-day vacation in Bali. We started with 2 days in Uluwatu, then 3 days in Ubud, 2 days in Sidemen, and last 2 days in Seminyak. We explored interesting places in South Bali, especially the beaches, then Central Bali, North Bali, and also East Bali, including sunrise hiking to Mount Batur. On our last 2 days, we just relaxed – we had great food and spent the evening in the most famous Potato Head Beach Club. Finally, on our day of departure, as I had my flight in the noon, there was not much of time left. However, we did not miss having the must-have smoothie bowl for breakfast at Kynd Community before heading to the airport. But, if you’re in Bali, you just won’t feel like leaving!
Highlights of the Day
- Breakfast at Kynd Community
- Departure from Bali
Breakfast at Kynd Community
It is not that there are no other good cafes or restaurants in Seminyak, but this one is my favorite! Secondly, it was located very close to our hotel. In fact, as I have mentioned earlier, I booked the hotel in such a location that it should be close to Kynd Community – call me a fan! Richie and I already tasted some amazing preparations there on the previous day. Hence, on the last day, we were there just for the popular smoothie bowls of Kynd Community I have always read of in blogs, seen of in Instangram, and heard of from my friends who have recently been to Bali.
We got the Berry Tropical Smoothie Bowl. This red goodness consists of dragon fruit blended with banana, mixed berries, coconut water, and is topped with home-made granola, strawberries, and banana. It is absolutely delicious, super refreshing, and extremely healthy. What I found different in this bowl compared to others that I have had before elsewhere is that when you have finished the toppings, you do not just have the rest of the smoothie to spoon out. Instead, Kynd Community puts the granola on the bottom, so you can enjoy some crunchy granola in every spoon. We also ordered The Big Boss Breaky. It consists of farine dark rye with scrambled tofu, pesto, garlic mushrooms, asparagus, breaky bruschetta, beet hummus, and vegan chorizo. It was a fulfilling and delicious breakfast!
Goodbye Bali!
My flight to Bangkok was at noon, while Richie’s flight was at around 4.30 PM. So Richie could check out from the hotel later. I booked a cab using GoJek app and reached airport within 45 min. I highly suggest everyone departing from Bali to reach the airport at least 3 h prior to your flight departure time. This is because the airport is very busy and the queue at the immigration is just too long. Even though I reached 2 h before, I had to literally rush to the boarding gate. Anyways, it is always sad when the vacation ends and you actually have to board the flight back home. However, it also creates a new excitement to wait for the next vacation!

Wow, I’ve bever been to Bali but it’s definitely on my list. I’d especially love to try – and photograph – Kynd Community!!!
Yes, it’s a must-visit place in Bali!
What a name. Kynd Community looks and sounds like, especially for vegans, a food paradise that completes the Bali experience!
Absolutely, Carol.
I love how you find these Vegan restaurants wherever you go Shreya. I am not vegan myself but Kynd Community sounds like a great find, especially because you’re right in saying, they make plant based food not sound or look boring at all. I would totally go for a Kynd Big Mac Burger myself! Potato Head Beach Club was one of my favourite experiences as well in Bali, I loved their pool overlooking the beach. Also, their cocktails are pretty awesome.
Oh great to know that you had been to Potato Head!
Wowza what a great guide! My partner and I (both vegan) are considering starting our around the world trip in Bali and this is such a great starting place. I’m so happy to hear that it’s easy to find vegan options and I absolutely love the expense guide you have.
You would have no issues with food, Alysa.
That is great to hear that Bali has both luxury accommodations as well as more budget-friendly places. Kynd Community looks so cool and everything you got there looks delicious! I’ve yet to make it to Bali but I’m marking that down as a place to try! Glad you had an amazing time, and the weather looks perfect!
Yes, you will find both luxurious and cheap accommodations there.
Seems like a great trip! I haven’t been to Bali yet and that hotel looks great! Ill definitely look this place up when I plan my trip!
Sure, Brittany.
Bali seems to be one of the most hyped up places nowadays! No-one seems to be shutting up about it! Haha. For some time I avoided it because of that but I guess I’ll have to get over my cynical attitude and see it for myself as well! Will definitely check out Kynd Community as well – thanks for sharing 🙂
I thought it’s overhyped, but now after I am back, I can understand why it is so hyped up? It’s worth it!
As someone who’s new to veganism I found this really interesting. I’ve travelled as a vegetarian but never a vegan. We love to eat in restaurants which are purely vegan or vegetarian as then you know you’re ok to choose whatever you like and you don’t have to keep checking whether it’s got meat hidden in it somewhere. This place sounds like paradise. I love the look of those smoothie bowls and the tofu baguette. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Oh yes Angela, nice to know that you are new to veganism. You would love the food almost anywhere in Bali.
It sounds like you found a great way to enjoy your last days in Bali. I understand why you chose the Kynd Cafe. I tousle definitely enjoy cold brew coffee and some of the salted caramel ice cream. Good to know that the Potato Head Beach Club is free except for sunset. Since sunset is probably a great time to visit.
True that, sunset is the best time, however, you get a cover charge, so that’s fine.
This places looks like a great place to unwind. I love the view over the pool and Kynd cafe look like one to check out for sure. I really need to book a trip to Bali.
Yes Bianca, why not soon!
Wow the food looks amazing – especially the smoothie bowls! Bali is definitely on our bucket list so I am taking notes as I read this lol! Love the structure made from shutters – so cool and would love to see that when we make our way there.
Yes Mary, you would love your time there.
It sounds like you stayed at some amazing properties and ate great food. Potato Head Beach Club looks like a lot of fun, I’m in love with those shutters
Yes, the interior of Potato Head is just so beautiful.
Looks amazing! We did Bali completely different and will have to check out this spot when we go back!
Sure.
What a great guide!! Kynd cafe reminded me of a place here in Seattle, and given that my boyfriend is Vegan, I an so gonna visit it when i visit Bali. Thank you so much for introducing me to that place 😀 Also, 5000 Lost Soles is such an interesting and thought provoking installation.
Your bf will go crazy after the food there, I bet.
Wow, what a loaded, but amazing 9 day trip that you have experienced in Bali. It has long been my dream to traipse my feet in Bali, but I didn’t get a chance yet.The Potato Head Beach Club is something I should not miss when visiting here. Also, the Kynd Big Mac Burger looks so luscious that I would love to try as well. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Hope you visit Bali someday!
That is surely an exciting day! Filled with such wonderful things to do and eat.
The Potato Head Beach Club is the best. I will head there if I land in Bali again.
You must.
I have heard a lot aobut the vegan food in Bali and Lunch at Kynd Community would definitely be a highlight. I love how they punch the letters out on the smoothie bowls!
Yes, the letters made out of fruits are just so cool.
This post just makes me want to pack my bag and leave for the magical island. There is so much to do and see that it’s unbelievable and your visuals just are complimentary of this place. Would not want to miss it on the Potatoe Beach club for sure as the pools are to die for and the foods takes it to another level I presume. You been lucky to visit this fantastic Ona e and I hope I can too.
You will soon, Amar.
I also stayed in Seminyak during my last Bali trip and visited this cafe. I loved the view over the pool. I’m really happy to see you making the most out of your Bali trip 🙂
Glad to know that, Daniel!
Love your photos! I’ve heard so much about Bali I feel like i’ve already been there sometime. The food looks so delicious though, is it expensive? Because in the UK, vegan food is quite pricey still at the moment.
It’s pretty cheap here. It’s just everything and anything without meat.
Bali is one of my favourite places and I loved this post primarily because I am a vegetarian and Kynd Community looks like a dream for vegans and vegetarians. It is so so Instagram worthy! The smoothie bowls at Samanvaya Luxury Resort look blissful and I am sure the location would be gorgeous coz East Bali is as pretty as a painting. Kynd has such vibrant colours and that baguette looks YUM! <3
The food at Kynd is the best.
That amphitheater is so quirky. The place is quite vibrant for a stay and Seminyak is so central. The food too, seems delicious. I can see that you made the most of the place too with all the activities. Nice to know about it
Thanks Ami!
I can understand why would you not want to leave Bali. It is such a wonderful destination. The Kynd Community looks like a great place to have food. The amphitheatre and the 5000 Lost Soles looks so quirky! Were 5000 sandals used to make that? Enjoyed reading your article on Seminyak.
Yes, 5000 sandals picked up from the oceanside have been used for that.
Bali looks great! I love the variety of things to do. The infinity pool looks great! Hope to make it there someday.
You will surely, Dylan!
It looks like you had an amazing time! Kynd Community looks great, the restaurant looks full. The ice cream looks fantastic too
Yes David, the restaurant is always busy.
Bali is the place we really want to visit soon. And you are truly convincing me that we should visit very soon maybe after our Tokyo trip. I will save thia hotel you stayed in, it looks promising!
You would love this place, I bet.
