  1. I visited Thailand a few years ago and did the typical itinerary – Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket & Krabi. However, I now wish to return to do some of things I missed. Particularly Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. But after reading your post, I am adding more destinations to my list! I really want to go scuba diving in Koh Tao and visit Koh Samui as well. They both look absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to get back and eat some more delicious Thai food and watch some more amazing sunset!

  2. I was born and raised in the Philippines and never had the chance to go to Thailand yet even though those two countries are very close to each other. If I do go to Thailand, I would love to check out the floating market, the temples, and the beaches <3 How much is 28000 THB in US$? and I’m assuming that doesn’t include flights?

  3. What an itinerary! I think that you have highlighted many of the places that people hear about and want to visit in Thailand, at least on a first visit. I like how you have sightseeing, speed boat tours, scuba diving, and hanging out on beaches in this itinerary. A little bit for everyone!

  4. I definitely didn’t see enough of Thailand the 2 times I visited! I’d like to try out Koh Tao and do some snorkelling there; hopefully I’ll see some great underwater creatures! The market is always a must see for me!

  5. I am going to Thailand in August and I am so excited to explore al these places. Although I am trying to skip beaches and go to Chiang Mai and further so I will be more interested in clicking markets and temples.

  6. Such a pity that I did not make it to Kanchanaburi when I was in Bangkok, looks like a great day trip. Also, diving and snorkeling in Koh Tao sounds like a fantastic plan. I’ve always wanted to go to Koh Samui as well so it is already in my list of places to visit in Thailand on my second trip 😉

  7. This is perfect for me. I’m planning a trip to Thailand next fall and love this itinerary. I’ve always wanted to learn to SCUBA Dive as well, and I’ve head Koh Tao is a perfect place to do it. Can’t wait for this trip.

  8. This is an amazing itinerary for a memorable trip to Thailand. I haven’t been to Thailand yet but it is on our bucket list and this kind of itinerary that helps introduce a first time visitor (like me) to Thailand is exactly what I have been looking for. The links to the detailed post for each day are also so informative. Thanks for the helpful post – will be referring to it when we plan our visit to Thailand.

  9. I like this itinerary, you covered very nice spots. I have visited them all except doing the snorkeling tour. Moreover, I think going to Chatuchak market before the flight is a great idea, except the market in Chiang mai, Chauchak is the best in the coutntry.

  10. I’ve had my eyes on Thailand for a long time now, but I never got to visit it. It’s a bit far from me, but maybe in a year or two I’ll be able to make it there. I’ll keep this list in mind!

  11. You have covered a lot in 9 days and thanks for providing such a detailed information about what to do in each city with expenses. I got time to visit Bangkok but not other places, so saving your post for useful details.
