Ultimate Bali in 9 Days – Day 2
I started my Bali vacation with an overnight stay in Uluwatu – a stunning destination in south Bali. You must visit the cliff-top temple and surfer-friendly beaches overlooking the Indian Ocean. Richie and I explored the most beautiful places in Uluwatu on a scooter. Following day, we planned to explore few secret beaches in Uluwatu and also stay in one of them. Have you heard of Green Bowl Beach before? It’s one of the best beaches in South Bali. Also, Nyang Nyang Beach and Nunggasan Beach are some pristine beaches of the area. We stayed overnight in a transparent bubble right in front of Nyang Nyang beach overlooking the ocean. Bali is a home to some pretty incredible accommodation experiences, and Bubble Hotel is surely one of them. We stayed there for a unique, romantic experience in Uluwatu.

Secret Beach 1 – Green Bowl Beach
I love beaches and I do a lot of research on where to find white sandy beaches with turquoise water. They make the best photos and I love spending time in such beaches. I came across this beautiful, secluded beach called Green Bowl Beach. We checked the map – it is just 10 km away from PinkCoco Bali. We just hopped on to the scooter and rode farther south and reached the beach in around 30 min. It is located at the base of green cliffs next to a small village known as Ungasan.
The weather was great, and we spent around an hour in the beach. We played in the water and took pictures. We also sipped on some young, fresh coconut water for only Rp 20,000, and then headed back to our hotel.
Brunch at The Cashew Tree
On our way back to PinkCoco Bali, we diverted the route toward Bingin Beach. There was no intention to visit another beach, but to have a tasty vegan meal at The Cashew Tree. Bingin is one of the favorite beaches for surfers, which offers great waves and unparalleled views over the Indian Ocean. The Cashew Tree is the hottest new day club close to the beach, with tasty vegan options. You also get vegan desserts like cakes, yogurts, and ice creams. The price is affordable.
We loved the food there so much that we actually packed a lot more food for snacks and dinner. Trying a few more varieties from here was a good idea.

We arrived in the hotel close to noon. We packed our bags – ready to check out. Overall, we loved PinkCoco. You can read about it here.
We handed our room keys and the scooter keys back at the reception. Later, we booked a Taxi on GoJek app to get a drop to Bubble Hotel Uluwatu located on Nyang Nyang Beach. It is located just 6.5 km away from PinkCoco Bali, so it took us around 15 min to reach.
Hike Down to the Bubble Hotel
The taxi dropped us in front of Villa Plenilunio – a cliff-top wedding venue. The staff of the Bubble Hotel met us in front of a small convenience store next to the villa. He led us to a small storage room where we stored our luggage. It is highly recommended to take only your important belongings and clothing that you need for the stay with you.
The beach and hence the bubble are located at the foot of the hill. Most beaches in South Bali need you to walk down the hillside. Most of them have stairs and does not take more than 10 min. We experienced the same while visiting Green Bowl Beach in the morning. However, the hike to Nyang Nyang beach is neither paved with stairs, nor is short. You have to hike down following the white rocks and it can take anywhere around 30-40 min depending on your speed.
I assume these are secret beaches because there are not many who wish to hike down the rugged terrain – though the journey is worthy, thanks to the splendid views over the limestone hillside covered in lush greenery and flowering bushes.
I will highly recommend you to descend slowly as the hike is not easy – the rocks can be slippery. Kindly wear good shoes and stay hydrated. Avoid hiking after it is dark as there are no lights. Hence, check-in time is not preferred beyond 6 PM.
Bubble Hotel Uluwatu
Staying inside a transparent bubble amid beautiful surroundings was always in my bucket list. Finally, ticking it off in Bali was fun! We came across Bubble Hotel in Instagram, thanks to social media. We instantly booked one of the bubbles before it becomes unavailable as they have only few bubbles right perched on Nyang Nyang Beach at Uluwatu.
Secret Beach 2 – Nyang Nyang Beach
If you ask me to name the best beach in Bali, my answer will be undoubtedly, Nyang Nyang Beach. It is a pristine stretch of the same Uluwatu coastline located on the east of Uluwatu. It is also one of Bali’s least visited beaches. That maybe because of its far-flung location and the long hike required to reach it. However, it offers incredible views of the ocean.
Secret Beach 3 – Nunggalan Beach
Sometimes, there is a confusion between Nyang Nyang and Nunggalan beaches. Both lie on the same stretch of coastline. The beach where Bubble Hotel is located is the Nyang Nyang, which is toward the east. While the beach where you will find the most popular Instagrammable shipwreck is the Nunggalan beach, which is toward the west. Nuggalan beach is also one of the least-visited beaches in Bali. It took us around 30 min to walk across the shoreline from Bubble hotel to the Nunggalan beach.
Night in the Bubble Hotel
After getting back to the Bubble Hotel, we just realized that the place has turned more magical in dark. There is no light around, but the moonlight, and the stars above you. It feels weirdly romantic in the bubble!

We had a great time in the secret beaches of Bali today, and in the Bubble Hotel. This is one of the of the most unique hotels in the world. We got to see Bali from a different point of view. It is a great experience to stay in a transparent bubble amid nature right in front of the ocean. That also makes the best wake-up scenes for the following morning when the sun rises. The only concern is the unpleasant hike. If you do not mind that, you should definitely spend a night here and have an otherworldly experience.

I had never seen a bubble hotel or heard about them in Uluwatu, Bali, what a unique accommodation experience! I love how it lights up at night. Looks like you all had fun. I’ve never been in Bali, I’ve never heard of the Green Bowl Beach and I’ve never knew there is such a quirky hotel like the Bubble. I’d absolutely LOVE to spend the night under the stars like that, protected by “unwanted visitors,” yet experiencing the surrounding beauty like I was under the clear sky.

I’m hoping to visit far-eastern countries in a couple of years. Bali is definitely in the list and this bubble hotel in Uluwatu looks fantastic. Totally romantic! Perfect honeymoon place. To actually get to sleep under the stars, but in a perfectly safe place is such an awesome thing. The secluded beaches are just too good. Its too tempting.

I’ve stayed in several bubbles and domes exactly like this and love the glamping experience of them! With the sunshine in Bali, I would think it would get really hot inside though? I’ve always stayed in the bubbles in places much cooler weather than you’d get in Bali.

I would like to experience the Bubble Hotel, just for a night. But I fell in love with Nyang-Nyang Beach. It’s so pristine and untouchable. I wonder if you can only go there if you stay in the Bubble Hotel though.

I must admit you cant better when you thinking of beaches than this part of the world. I did visit Nyang-Nyang Beach years ago and this brough back loads of memories. I would love to visit it again though just for those clear waters and white sandy beaches. I must say if I did go again I would look to stay in the Bubble Hotel for sure as it has all you need and more to make it a perfect holiday. Thanks for sharing
